A weak cold front is poised to swing through the Concho Valley early Wednesday morning, ushering in some cooler air. Before that, we will see temperatures stay on the mild side overnight with lows popping down into the 50s and 60s. A cooler day is on the way for Wednesday with temperatures in the upper 70s and low 80s, before winds shift back around to the south on Thursday. A strong upper level storm system will approach the Concho Valley as we end the week bringing good rain chances. This will start on Thursday, with a few showers possible in the evening and overnight hours. Friday will start out drizzly then clear out a little bit as storms try to form off to our west. Those storms should organize into a line and try to push into the Concho Valley late Friday night. One or two of these storms could be on the strong to severe side. The set up is there, but the energy is lacking so I’m not very confident in our severe weather threat just yet – stay tuned. Saturday morning could feature some storms before another cold front moves in around midday clearing the skies. We’ll watch the models over the next few days and keep you up to date on the potential for severe weather.
