The Wall Hawks (39-1) finished up their best season under Head Coach Jason Schniers as 3A State Champions with a 2-1 victory over Blanco (33-5) at Dell Diamond in Round Rock. It is their first State Title in Baseball for Wall.

The pitching was stellar. Through six innings, Junior Pitcher, and Championship MVP, Luke Young allowed three hits, one run and struck out three batters. The Panthers countered with Freshman Pitcher Zac Wisdom, who also pitched six innings, allowed five hits, two runs, and only walked one batter.

The Hawks broke through the game in the bottom of the sixth with the bases loaded. Junior Caleb Heuertz flied out to center field to score Junior Colton Diebitsch from third base. Next batter, Gage Weishuhn, hit a single to center field to score Ryan Gully to give Wall a 2-0 lead.

Senior Pitcher Ryan Gully came in at the top of the seventh to close the game out with two runners on and no outs. Blanco scored their first run of the game off a sacrifice fly to left field to bring in Sophomore Ty Adkinson.

The next out came on a fielders choice, with Senior Tyler LaRue thrown out at second base.

Wall clinched the win when Ryan Gully struck out Sophomore Baylor Smith swinging, his only strikeout in his one inning of relief.
