SAN ANGELO, TX - At Lake Nasworthy, the annual Lucas Oil Drag Boat Racing series continued today for the preliminary races.
They have boats racing from 40 miles per hour to 250 miles per hour.
The drivers cannot train unless they have rescue, so they mainly practice right there on the race track.
Teams can be individual boats or more than one boat.
A Driver of Promodified Drag Boat, Shelby Ebert, says, "My favorite part about the boat races is just the family atmosphere that we bring. A lot of other Motorsports don't have that family dynamic that we have. A lot of my competitors I'm really good friends with."
Tomorrow continues the races as the racers enter the final round.
The winning team will receive money and a trophy.
