Angelo St. Tennis back after 32-year absence 02/10/18


The last time Angelo St. hosted a competitive tennis match, Ronald Reagan was president, and Phantom of the Opera–Broadway’s longest running musical–wasn’t even on Broadway yet. But, after 32 long years, college tennis is back in the Concho Valley. It didn’t matter the temperature was 34 degrees when everything got going. Close to 100 people came out to the blue ASU Tennis Courts to see history and the Belles play the No. 4 team in the South Central Region: The St. Edward’s Hilltoppers. In doubles, the Belles top pair of Ena Ovcina and Maria Delgadillo were were able to best St. Edward’s top pairing, 8-4, to record ASUs first point of the day. But, St. Edward’s took over from there. At the conclusion of the cold morning, the Belles found themselves on the short end losing 7-2.
