A 39 year old San Angelo man is sentenced to 3 decades in prison.

Fermin Rayos was found guilty of three counts of aggravated assault against a public servant.

In April of last year Rayos was found to have knives in each hand and was making stabbing motions towards officers when they responded to a suspicious person call.

Officers ended up deploying a taser to apprehend Rayos.

Rayos received a 30 year prison sentence.


The San Angelo police department welcomes it’s newest members to the department’s SWAT medic team.

Police Chief, Tim Vasquez, swore-in two of the four new members.

Many gathered in the chief’s conference room to make it official on Wednesday.

The two newest members will be available 24 hours a day if there’s ever a SWAT team emergency.


There’s a new Wal-Mart neighborhood market that opened for business this week.

Many attended a ribbon cutting for the new store located in the 51 hundred block of Knickerbocker Road.

The store manager says after a five week process, their 105 associates are excited to serve the community and it’s  different from the store off Sherwood Way.

The 10th annual San Angelo Showdown Drag Boat Races doesn’t start until this weekend, but campers aren’t wasting any time.

Several campers have already started setting up around Lake Nasworthy in anticipation for the drag boat races.

These camp sites cost anywhere between 300 to 400 dollars for the duration of the event and as of Wednesday are sold out.
