Specific shirt sales going to raise aid funds

SAN ANGELO, TX – In the wake of the tragedy that struck the Permian Basin communities of Midland and Odessa, one small business right here in the Concho Valley is struggling to get traction on an effort to help the families impacted by the shooting.

Beginning in late 2016, Happy Life Apparel was the passion project and source of supplemental income of Tiffany Bruning. She makes t-shirts, and is a vinyl artist, who cuts and presses by hand and sells via Etsy and social media. But the recent incident is not the first time the Robert Lee resident has sought to help.

In response to Hurricane Harvey her t-shirt sales helped one family. Now, aiming to sell her “West Texas Strong Midland Odessa” shirt, she wants to be able to donate to the Go-Fund-Me pages for several Midland-Odessa families.

Bruning also shared some insights on community and tragedy saying, “when a tragedy like this strikes, people come together and unite against the bad things that have happened. There is a sense of community that forms around those events. But, what would be better and ideal, is if people would have that sense of community all of the time.”
