Law enforcement from across the country are investigating a major drug bust of fentanyl in Lubbock.

Agents executed federal search warrants at two locations in Lubbock, at an apartment complex on 4th Street and a home at a second location.

They seized an undisclosed amount of fentanyl, which experts say is more potent than heroine and morphine.

DEA agents say they’re targeting sellers of the drug that is smuggled to west Texas from China.

Federal agents wore protective suits because it’s so strong that just 2 milligrams is a lethal dose for 99 percent of the population.

36 year old Sidney Lanier, 28 year old Jessica Holl and 32 year old Jamie Robertson were arrested and are expected to be charged with conspiracy to distribute and possession with intent to distribute fentanyl.

This is the first multi agency fentanyl bust in Lubbock, but there have already been at least 4 or 5 overdoses in area.
