In news with Kaitlin Moore, a 31-year-old Midland man died after crashing his pickup off an embankment in Santa Rita.
Police responded just after 2 am Monday morning to the crash into Sulphur Draw off West Avenue D.
They found an F-450 pickup resting on an embankment.
The driver had crashed through a guard-rail in the park 700 condominiums parking lot.
31-year-old Andrew Perez was killed in the crash.
Investigators think Perez was traveling at a high rate of speed when he hit the guardrail, came off the ground and landed 45 feet away.
An autopsy has been ordered in the shooting death of a child just North of San Angelo.
Tom Green County Sheriff’s Deputies arrived Sunday afternoon to find a young girl, who was almost three years old, had been shot at the home on FM 2105.
Justice of the peace pronounced her dead.
When officers arrived, the child’s mother and one, three and six-year-old siblings were at the home.
The sheriff says the investigation is underway into the circumstances of the child’s shooting and evidence will be presented to the district attorney for a grand jury review.
A new allowance with federal applications for student aid now lets college bound high school students use their parents previous year income taxes on their student aid applications.
All this week, ASU and the San Angelo school district are hosting seminars where parents and students can actually complete applications for federal student aid.
Tuesday’s free session will be at Central high school, Wednesday’s will be at ASU and Thursday’s at TLCA.
