Sunday afternoon fire damages North San Angelo home

A San Angelo home was badly damaged by a blaze this afternoon.

San Angelo Police and Fire responded to the home on East 22nd Street for a report of a structure fire.

A fire marshal at the scene said the fire started in the back of the home although the cause has yet to be determined at this time.

Police had a portion of 22nd Street blocked off between Volney and Oakes as crews continued to battle the blaze.

Fire crews eventually were able to put out the blaze and no one was home at the time of the fire.
