A dedication was held Thursday, September 8th for San Angelo’s new performing arts center.
Dozens of people attended the dedication ceremony at the new building on Gillis street which is the former coke warehouse building. The building includes a theater, black box space, and San Angelo ballet studio and offices. The first performances will be for the ballet’s nutcracker in December in the new facility that will be called the “Stephens performing arts building.” The new Stephens performing arts building is part of 26 million dollar project that includes a major renovation on the city auditorium. The opening for the Murphey performance hall is scheduled for next summer for San Angelo symphony performances.
