Murder Investigation Underway in South Abilene


Abilene Police are investigating a murder in south Abilene. 

Police confirm Tom Niblo, 54, was shot and killed at his home on the 3700 block of Woodridge Drive just after 6:00 a.m. 

Officers on scene told our news affiliates, KTAB and KRBC Niblo’s spouse called 9-1-1 around 6:18 a.m. to report the shooting.

Police say she told the operator she escaped out of the back of the residence after hearing shots fired inside, but her husband was not able to get away.

A dog was shot as well, but Niblo’s wife was not injured during the incident. 

She is currently in protective custody as police continue their investigation.

Niblo was Vice President of Senter Realtors in Abilene. He also worked as a commercial agent for the company. KTAB and KRBC have reached out to Senter Realtors for a statement on Niblo’s death.
