Police shut down Oklahoma’s busiest airport Tuesday after a shooting that left at least two people wounded.
All traffic in and out of the Will Rogers World Airport was halted and all flights were suspended as Oklahoma City police officers searched for the shooter, Captain Paco Balderrrama said.
“We’ve located one victim and we’re looking for a second reported victim,” he said.
The local FBI also confirmed they were responding to the incident.
Meanwhile, one shooting victim with “life-threatening injuries” was rushed to the OU Medical Center, said Lara O’Leary, the public information officer for the Emergency Medical Services Authority.
That person’s identity and condition were not immediately available.
The airport was ordered closed after police got a call shortly before 1 p.m. “of shots fired in the parking lot area of the airport,” Balderrama said.
“We’re asking everyone to stay away from the airport,” he said. “If you have a flight, contact your airline.”
