Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison to Attend Dedication of Kay Bailey Hutchison Center for Security Studies at Angelo State University

Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison will attend a dedication ceremony of the Center for Security Studies which bears her name at Angelo State University. The ceremony, which is not open to the public, will be at 11 a.m., Tuesday, May 10, in the Hardeman Building, Room 206.

Hutchison will be honored for her role in securing federal funding to open the center in April 2010 and for facilitating a U.S. Air Force grant to ASU that has been used to continue and expand the Center for Security Studies.

The Kay Bailey Hutchison Center for Security Studies is a joint program developed by the university to meet the needs of the Air Force’s Air Education and Training Command. The purpose of the center is to provide airmen and airwomen with advanced education – including bachelors and master’s degrees – in cultural competence, security studies, border security and intelligence.
