Pink Overload at Shannon Breast Cancer Awareness Event

Hundreds are celebrating cancer survivors with some local art for breast cancer awareness month.

The pink party by Shannon Medical Center was hosted at the San Angelo Museum of Fine Arts.

Shannon and SAMFA partnered up for the breast cancer education and awareness night. The main attraction is original art pieces honoring breast cancer survivors.

Organizers say six local artists at the show are all either survivors or know someone who has had cancer.

“The last couple years we did paintings with breast cancer survivors themselves ans they were the artists,” said marketing director Kori Knappe. “So we kind of evolve it every year to attract different types of people, different crowds because the goal is for them to receive education about breast cancer and the more people we can reach with that the better.”
