March 8 Sneak Preview of the Family-Friendly Comedy/Variety Series From Executive Producers Ellen DeGeneres and Steve Harvey Spotlights 4-Year-Old Basketball Phenom,  6-Year-Old Spelling Bee Wiz and 5-Year-Old Mini Bruce Lee

UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. – March 3, 2016 – A four-year-old piano prodigy and world champion salsa dancers are just two of the amazing acts featured in the much-anticipated premiere of “Little Big Shots,” NBC’s new comedy/variety series from executive producers Ellen DeGeneres and Steve Harvey that airs Sunday, March 13 (8-9 p.m. ET). 

Harvey hosts the feel-good, family-friendly series that celebrates phenomenal kids and goes toe to toe with them in hilarious conversations and interviews.  A sneak preview of “Little Big Shots” will air Tuesday, March 8 at 10 p.m. ET after ‘The Voice.’

In addition to the impressive young pianist (Torrance, CA) and gifted 7 and 11-year old salsa dancers (North Bergen and Jersey City, NJ), the March 13 premiere also includes a funny viral storyteller (Greenville, SC) and a talented six-year-old maestro (Des Moines, Iowa) who conducts choirs like a pro.  This is not a competition but a funny and addicting show that celebrates the uniqueness of children from around the globe. 

On the March 8 sneak preview, a four-year-old basketball phenom named Titus (Derby, KS) shows his amazing gift for trick shots, while a 6-year-old spelling champ (San Angelo, TX) faces Steve Harvey in a hilarious spelling competition. 

The sneak peek also includes a five-year-old reincarnation of Bruce Lee from Japan, two incredible singers from Toronto and Hong Kong, and a sassy dancer (Raleigh, NC) who became an internet sensation after dancing to Aretha Franklin’s “Respect.”

“Little Big Shots” is executive produced by DeGeneres, Harvey, Jeff Kleeman, Gerald Washington and Robin Ashbrook, and Alison Holloway is the co-executive producer.  The series is produced by Warner Horizon Television, East 112th Street Productions and A Very Good Production.

Information about Akash Vukoti from NBC:
Akash is 6 years old 1st grader. He, along with his big sister Amrita, became one of the youngest sibling members inducted into the American Mensa in 2012.

Both of them are Davidson Young Scholars too. Since Akash was a baby, he was attracted to the alphabets and his parents recognized this interest and provided with more of the alphabet toys. Akash started reading and writing even before he turned 2.

When Akash was 2.5 yrs old, his parents took Akash to a spelling bee competition “Mastispell”, near Washington DC in which Akash qualified in the written round and went on to the oral rounds. Since then, Akash competed in several spelling bees every year and won 11 trophies so far (note: not 1st place trophies).

In 2015, when Akash was in KG, he won his School Spelling Bee Championship and then competed with 54 other school spelling bee champions in the Scripps Regional Spelling Bee and Akash emerged as the 2nd runner-up. This year, he won the San Angelo Christian Home School Association (1st – 5th grade) and is representing his school in the “San Angelo Scripps Regional Spelling Bee” which is scheduled for March 5th 2016.
