Local veteran makes better beards

Many great American companies over the decades got their start in someones garage. One such business has sprung up in San Angelo, and is doing well after nearly two years in business. Chris Dogget started Dogfight, named for the historic aircraft skirmishes of wars past, shortly after retiring from the United States Air Force.

“So I joined the airforce in 1992, and then fast forward about four years to 1996 my second deployment, I went Saudi Arabia. It was called Khobar Towers, there was a tragic bombing there,” Chris explained. It was that incident, which claimed the lives of several service-members, that also wounded Chris and for which he received the purple heart. Later after meeting his now wife Brook, the two spent time at Goodfellow AFB and from the relationships they formed around San Angelo, when Chris retired in 2015, San Angelo is where they decided to settle down.

“As soon as day one hit from retirement,” said Chris, “I started growing this; I was trying to recoup some oney from razors over over a 22 year span of shaving everyday.”

Following that, Chris realized that having a beard meant a whole new world of skin and hair-care. He wasn’t finding what he wanted in existing products. His own creations, soon won approval from his friends, and a business was born. A business Chris runs with the help of his wife, Brook.
