Cyclospora infections reported in Texas

Cyclospora is a parasite that is associated with imported produce. The symptoms can be like those of the flu, loss of appetite, diarrhea, and fatigue. There have been outbreaks in Texas this summer, with reports starting at the beginning of May.

If you have symptoms for a week or longer you should seek medical attention. Kristy Edwards, family physician at Shannon Clinic said if you have illnesses like cancer, or diabetes you should see your doctor should you have the symptoms for a week.
