SAN ANGELO, TX – San Angelo ISD was recently honored in a March 2019 article featured in Wall St. 24/7. District Superintendent Carl Dethloff atributes a great deal of the success of local students to both teachers and the families. Additionlly there is the “learner profile” that the district uses to identify the strengths and learning styles of their students.
“Our school distric graduated 94% of it’s students in San Angelo,” said Dethloff. “So we are delighted about that and it’s really a testament to the teachers and the families that all come together and help kids succeed in education. Texas had a great showing, in the top 8; we were number 6 in the state of Texas. Our first thing is any superintendent has to hire great people. So I think as a leader the best legacy we can leave is to hire people that really lift people up. Surround themselves with kids and support kids in their next steps and their next endeavors.”
Others placers in the state were Wichita Falls with a graduation rate of 97.4%, Midland at a rate of 96.7%, Beaumont-Port Arthur at 96.4%, Lubbock at 95.3%, and Sherman-Denison at 94.6%.
