Netflix raises subscription prices with largest price hike in its’ history


  Netflix is hitting viewers with the biggest price hike in its’ history. Monthly subscriptions are going up by 13% – 18%. The most popular plan will now cost about $156 a year. New Netflix users are already being charged the higher prices. Existing customers will see them phased in over the next few months. 

Netflix is the world’s largest premium video service with almost 150 million subscribers which has almost tripled in the past 5 years even with the price of the standard plan increasing by 63%. The most expensive plan on Netflix is now $16 compared to Hulu for $12, Amazon Prime for $9, and CBS All Access for $10.
