In news, San Angelo was in for a treat. Taya Kyle, the wife of American sniper, Chris Kyle spoke to hundreds of people that gathered at the McNease convention center.

Following the tragic death of her husband, Taya regularly speaks to audiences across the country and delivers inspiring messages.

She was Thursday’s keynote speaker for the annual Laura W Bush Institute for women’s health event where Taya spoke about faith family and freedom.

People who live in Robert Lee are under a boil water notice.

State officials say it’s because  of a leak due to line repairs and they’re requiring the Coke County water supply corporation to notify customers of the need to boil water prior to human consumption.

Water should be brought to a roiling boil for at least two minutes until test results are analyzed and the boil water notice is lifted.

Hundreds of children ran around the track at San Angelo stadium for the annual Kids Marathon.

They’ve actually been running or walking for the past four months up to 26 miles.

At the stadium they took their final celebratory lap and took part in other games requiring physical activity.  

The program is designed for children in grades kindergarten through six and encourages them to develop the habit of moving around and eating a balanced diet.  

The final lap event included booths and information for parents on children’s activities held by a variety of groups while students are out on summer break.

In weather, today’s high will be 78 degrees. There is a 30 percent chance of rain in the forecast for Saturday.
