A grand jury indicted a 31 year old women for murdering a man by strangling him in June of 2010, in a cold case police have investigated for six years.
Police documents say, Kimberly Nichole Linthicum, had a sexual relationship and used drugs with victim, Brian Kyle Plunkett.
A co-defendant, George Simmons was also sexually involved with Linthicum. She said the two made arrangements to rob the Plunkett and when the robbery plan didn’t work, Linthicum told investigators Simmons strangled Plunkett.
Charges against Simmons have since been dropped.
Plunkett’s body was found five months later in a near skeletal condition on the side of the road at FM 2288 near the San Angelo state park.
Also, officials are investigating an incident where two young people were shot in the head Saturday evening in north San Angelo.
It happened in a drive-by shooting in the 11-hundred block of East 22nd street.
One teenage male victim died and a second shooting victim was transported to Shannon Medical Center for emergency surgery.
Police were still questioning witnesses and collecting information in the case Monday, March 28, 2016.
A jury has also indicted a 46-year-old Ozona woman in the death of a San Angelo police officer in June of last year during the city’s showdown drag boat races.
Police Sgt. Korby Kennedy was providing traffic control during a parade on Knickerbocker Road. Cynthia Quigley’s vehicle collided with Kennedy’s motorcycle.
She is charged with criminal negligent homicide in his death.
