A San Angelo driver was arrested Wednesday night after hitting a pedestrian and fleeing the scene.
It happened just after 6:00 Wednesday evening in the 700 block of Blackbear Road.
According to police the driver of the black Chevy pickup, 45-year-old Lucas Alcantar, swerved into the front yard of a home striking a tree and the homeowner.
The victim, a 49-year-old man, was transported to San Angelo Community Medical Center by ambulance for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
Alcantar fled the scene but was apprehended a short time later at the intersection of Armstrong and 50th Street. He was taken to the Tom Green County Jail and is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
