Yesterday was World Tai Chi Day and Concho Yoga and Tai Chi, who has been training the Concho Valley community for 20 years in enhanced fitness and well-being, hosted a picnic at Glenmore Park.
Demonstrations and workshops were presented in the ancient health-promoting exercises of Tai Chi alongside the South Concho River.
“We have the largest Tai Chi community and what’s considered a premiere studio in Texas (3,000 square feet) where we teach Tai Chi 5 days a week, different levels. We also do what is called “Chinese Yoga,” said Steve Haidinger, a Tai Chi Practitioner at Concho Yoga and Tai Chi.
Studies show practicing Tai Chi can help minimize some elements of aging, such as arthritis.
