San Angelo, TX - Celebrating the Houston Astros 1st World Series! Texans are turning out in force today on Friday, Nov. 3rd, to celebrate the Houston Astros first-ever World Series title and welcome their team home.
The city is throwing a ticker-tape parade to welcome the winning team home. City officials prepared with about a ton of confetti, positioned at some 20 sites along the parade route. So many people turned out that both the public transit and in-town roads were swamped. There were long lines at park-and-ride facilities and around NRG Park. Officials even had to extend the parade route to accommodate all the fans. The parade ends with a rally outside Houston's City Hall.
