Dozens of golfers spent the day on the course Monday in what’s become a tradition in San Angelo in the fight against breast cancer.
Golfers teed-off in a shot-gun start after lunch on the course at San Angelo Country Club.
This is the eighth year for the tournament that benefits oncology patients and their families at the Shannon Oncology Center.
“One of the reasons this is such a popular tournament is number one almost everybody knows somebody affected by breast cancer so this is a cause that hits close to home,” said Lyndy Stone, Director of Marketing for Shannon. “And number two, we really mix in a lot of fun with this tournament and then we conclude it with a bra drop which is unlike any other tournament ever.”
When the evening rolled around lots of people were hoping to be the winner in the annual “bra drop”. The bra bought by John Snuggs fell the closest to the target after being dropped from a helicopter. Snuggs won 640 dollars and donated his cash prize to tournament proceeds.
