San Angelo, TX – Today marked the 3rd Annual Crime Stoppers Car Show. Roughly 80 cars were on display when the event kicked off and that rose closer to 100 before the end of the day. The Crime Stoppers do not receive money through the government via tax payers, so they hold fundraisers to help them fund their various programs and initiatives.
“Car shows are a great way to have a whole lot of fun,” said Stan Jones, a Crime Stoppers board member. “To meet people, to meet your friends, to start new friendships and everyone loves old cars and new cars. So, a car show, it just made sense.”
The purpose of the organization is to answer phone calls of people who have witnessed or know about a crime. If there is a conviction based on the information, they will reward the people who called the tip in with cash.
