Second Pre-Trial Hearing Ordered for Murder Suspect, David Navarro

Navarro accused of 2017 murder of Abilene man, Eric Torrez

San Angelo, Tx - The first pre-trial hearing for David  Navarro was underway this morning at the Tom Green County Courthouse.

Navarro is one of two suspects charged in the murder of Eric Torrez of Abilene, after officials discovered his body in August of 2017.

Stephen Lynne Jennings was also charged in the murder of Torrez. Three other suspects were arrested on warrants for engaging in organized criminal activity-murder: Garry Lynn Jennings, Kristen Anne Jennings and Angella Wray.

Judge Barbara Walther is presiding over Navarro's case.

Defense Attorney Jenny Henley is filing a motion for request that all other attorneys involved in the murder case participate in a combined DNA hearing and submit to combined DNA testing for the case.

The defense claims the DNA on the evidence could be compromised if tested multiple times.
The next pre-trial hearing is set for July 30th at 3:30 p.m.
