Man Convicted of Child Sexual Assault Sentenced to 50 Years

A Tom Green County Judge sentenced a San Angelo man to spend five decades behind bars after convicting him of sexually assaulting a child.

A bench trial was held, Wednesday afternoon, at the Tom Green County Courthouse for 41-year-old Joseph Prestiano.

The victim, who was five-years-old at the time of the allegations, took the stand Wednesday at age seven and explained what happened to her throughout the year of 2015.

After hearing the evidence, Judge Brock Jones found Prestiano guilty on three counts of sexual assault of a child. Prestiano was sentenced to 50 years in prison.
