Farmers Market grand opening June 15
The Concho Valley Farmers Market has been successful since this season began May 8th. This Saturday, June 15th the Farmers Market will celebrate its annual grand opening from 7 a.m. until noon.
The pavilion is located at 609 S. Oakes St. – across from Ft. Concho.
Vendors selling at the Farmers Market can come from a 75-mile radius around San Angelo. Along with many vegetables like cabbage, radishes, potatoes, and kale, there will be a fresh crop of new fresh produce including seasonal fruits, green beans, peppers, corn, and even cheeses.
You can visit the Farmers Market on Tuesdays, Thursday, and Saturdays at 8 a.m. until around noon or when vendors are sold out. The market will hold sales until the first freeze in the fall.
Prices of venders are as low as you can find them — for about $1 you can purchase a bundle ot a bowl of produce. Every dollar you spend goes back into the hands of the community. At the grand opening, there will be a live band, door prizes which are the homemade goodies, treats, and fresh produce that will be given out every few minutes, and free hot coffee and fresh lemonade.
Looking forward to the rest of the summer, more fresh fruit will begin to be harvested and sold starting in July by vendors including watermelons, cantaloupe, and honeydew melon.
If you’re interested in joining the Farmers Market and bringing a booth of your homemade goodies or fresh produce, or would just like more information, you can do so by contacting Margie Jackson at 325-245-3338. You can join for $15 or $20, which allows to set up a stand for $5 or $10 at each sale.
