Community Effort to Help Those Impacted by Hurricane Harvey.

Local News

Charitable donations were asked for from residents heading to Southeast Texas to help with damage left behind by Hurricane Harvey–one person asking for help is a teacher from Victoria who traveled to San Angelo to stay with family in town.

Cynthia Roberson says she’s accepting donations of canned foods or non-perishables, as well as toiletries.

She says it’s a time where people could go two weeks or more without electricity or water so she hopes to also take back some bottled water as well.

Roberson mentioned the uncertainty with Hurricane Harvey’s aftermath–saying she tries to keep in touch with her teacher friends back home.

Meanwhile the Concho Valley Baptist association is doing their part.

Joe Bill Averitt says they’re sending a crew of cooks to support first responders and other crews.

They’ll make their way to the Houston area on Sunday morning.
