Central High School Student Struck by Pickup

Police are investigating an incident that happened Monday afternoon, where a Central student was struck by a pickup near the high school’s campus.

According to officials, shortly after one o’clock, a 16-year-old male was attempting to walk across Pecos Street and tried to beat the oncoming traffic. He was struck by a white Toyota Tacoma, driven by a 17-year-old student.

Medics transported the pedestrian to Shannon Medical Center. The extent of his injuries are not known at this time. Police say citations are pending further investigation.
