Captial Murder Suspect Loses Court Appointed Attorney

Local News

One of the seven defendants in the murders of two San Angelo students this year appeared in court today.

18-year-old Gilberto Reyes is charged in the shooting deaths of Juan Guerrero and Zane Lopez at a North San Angelo home in March. Reyes’ appointed Lubbock attorneys will not be able to handle his case. During a hearing today the judge said there are a limited number of defense attorneys in San Angelo who are listed to handle capital murder cases.  The Judge will consider options to finding Reyes a new attorney at a later date.
