Cancer Survivors Celebrate Recovery

Dozens of cancer patients and survivors gathered in support Thursday morning to celebrate life.

A reception honoring National Cancer Survivors Day was held at Shannon’s Magdalen clinic.

Patients took a break from treatments, while celebrating the journey that survivors have achieved.

“We love having this event because it celebrates everyone from newly diagnosed, we have patients that have been here 20 years ago,” said Misty Sonnenberg the Administrator for  the Regional Cancer Treatment Center, “and they all just get to come together and relax and enjoy a break from their diagnosis and we want them to know we are here to support them through their entire journey.”

National Cancer Survivors day is the first Sunday in June.
