Time is running out to register children for the Salvation Army “Angel Tree.”

After families are accepted, the children’s wish lists will be put on a tree at the mall or Walmart.
People can pick an angel and buy the items on the list for that child.
The Angel Tree in San Angelo serves about 500 families every year.
The Salvation Army is accepting applications through tomorrow.
“We are just taking families who qualify and are under the poverty income guidelines that the government sets. Pretty much is what we go by. We do take into consideration if there was a job loss or something like that,” says Cheryl Grider, with the Salvation Army.
Families need proof they are getting government assistance such as food stamps or proof of income and bills.
Parents also need to bring the kids’ birth certificate and wish list
Tomorrow is the last day to register at Salvation Army Church on third street  from 9am to 1pm.
