Parts of the Concho Valley are under an enhanced risk for severe weather tonight and overnight into Monday. A powerful cold front will be pushing in during the evening hours. Proceeding this front will be a line of thunderstorms that will quickly form and intensify over the Concho Valley.

  • A powerful cold front will be pushing through this evening and overnight
  • Southeast counties of the Concho Valley are under an enhanced risk for severe weather tonight
  • Rain continuing through Monday

Some of these storms will be severe containing heavy rainfall, excessive lightning, winds exceeding 60 mph, large hail, and the possibility of an isolated tornado. Models are starting to come into agreement that the heaviest thunderstorm activity will take place between 6 and midnight tonight before starting to taper off to widespread rain.

Rain will continue for much of Monday with less thunderstorm activity. Flash flooding is possible for parts of the Concho Valley tomorrow due to soils being saturated from the heavy rains we received in May and the beginning of June. Remember, turn around, don’t drown.
