62 Central Students Stranded in Northeast after Winter Storm

Local News

Cleanup is underway across the northeast after a late winter storm brought travel to a standstill. Among those stranded were 62 members of the Central High School Choir.

The combined Central and Coppell High School choirs performed at the Cathedral of Saint John the Divine in New York on Monday.

Central’s Choir Director, John Gilmore, says they were scheduled to make it home Tuesday, but plans changed when old man winter blew in and learning to go with the flow became part of the experience.

After working tirelessly with school administrators and travel coordinators, 20 students were able to make it on flights home from Washington D.C, Wednesday. The remaining 42 are expected to return, Thursday.
