60th annual Easter Sunrise Service

SAN ANGELO, Texas — The annual traditional Easter Sunrise Service was conducted this morning on Willeke Hill, better known as the Chapel on the Hill.

People of all denominations and backgrounds gathered at 7:00 a.m. for the special occasion.

Major Stan Carr of the Salvation Army gave the lesson and Mr. Gregory Smith of the Business Men’s Bible Class gave the benediction and bible reading.

The “Old Hat Band” provided music for the event and the Dove Creek Volunteer Fire Department also attended and directed traffic.

“On this Easter Sunday I’m here to tell you that Jesus Christ is risen from the dead. If you want to share in that hope, then I invite you to ask Jesus to forgive you of your sin and take control of your life. He will not say no, for He is risen. Amen,” said Major Stan Carr.

The special service has taken place since 1959. You can watch a replay of the service on our KLST News Facebook page.
