Inaugural Bronte hog and turkey festival

Bronte closed out their inaugural turkey and hog festival on Sunday, April 7. Saturday, April 6 saw them hosting a dinner, live music, and silent auction at their volunteer fire department facility. The event was preceeded by a hunt which locals as well as several celebrity hunters, including Nikki Tilley, participated in.

“It is awesome to see the younger girls and just kids in general get involved in hunting,” said Tilley.

Wayne Burns, the Bronte Turkey and Hog Fest founder was very enthusiastic. “Get invloved,” said Burns. “The main thing is we’re going to start, right after this one’s over we’re going to start on the next one for next year.”

The weekend event raised money for the community and also taught hunting and conservation skills. For more information including dates for next years event, visit their Facebook page.
