The Salvation Army in San Angelo continued its efforts to help the area homeless this holiday season.
The organization expected to feed about 600 of those less fortunate individuals today at its Annual Public Christmas Meal.
More than 10 volunteers showed up to help serve the meals and offer tea to the area homeless.
The Salvation Army says this has been one of the more stressful years, especially in the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey.
“This is needed. And the opportunity to serve and take a break from all that stress and sit down and be served by volunteers, it’s a great atmosphere to have,” says Tim Grider, Salvation Army.
Grider says they normally host a lunch on Christmas Eve for the homeless but this time decided to host a dinner at its emergency shelter.
