HBA Talks Construction Education


A representative of the National Association of Home Builders says as much as one-fourth of a new home cost is because of regulations.

Samantha Davis traveled from Dallas to San Angelo to talk to members of the San Angelo Home Builders Association at their monthly luncheon.

She talked about the problem builders are having in the Concho Valley and across the country to find qualified labor for residential home building.

“Really work force development, labor shortage, and how we are getting back into the schools,” were her main topics said Davis. “Locally whether it be high schools trade schools. Even into some areas of the country are getting back into the jails, retrain non felony inmates to get them back into the trade schools.”

In Octobers meeting San Angelo home builders will announce the newest members of their “Wall of Honor” and present a donation check to Operation Finally Home.
