Emergency crews responded to a drone crash today at Mathis Field.

San Angelo fire department workers and city of San Angelo and Mathis Field crews responded about 4:30 Tuesday afternoon.

The drone appeared to be sitting on it’s fuselage and a number of people were on the runway measuring where it landed and came to a stop, along with clearing debris on the taxi-way and nearby runway.

A city spokesman said the airport was not affected other than having one runway closed.
