Cork and Pig moves up the road

The much beloved Cork and Pig has moved to its new location, the former Johnny Carino’s, at 1407 Knickerbocker Road. The restaurant and staff are hoping to wow customers with their many improvements.

Co-owner John Nestor said that the Cork and Pig team was enthusiastic about the move and what it would enable them to do with the feedback they have received from the community. In an interview with KLST and KSAN news Nestor said, “It’s given us an opportunity to increase our dining space, our parking, a lot of the things that – you know, feedback from our guests over the past 8 years.” Nestor also detailed some of the advantages to the Cork and Pig way of offering their fare with a selection of wine. Cork and Pig touts an enhanced wine-list.

KLST and KSAN news also had the opportunity of speaking with general manager, Melinda Reyes, who said, “we’ve been waiting, it’s been a big anticipation from the servers and the cooks, owners, managers. And we’re so glad that we’re finally open.” Since taking over the former Johnny Carino’s, the Cork and Pig has remodeled and re-branded the property.

The seating and parking capacity has nearly doubled, which Reyes says will enable them to host more large parties. Reyes went on to say that the crew was very excited about the possibilitiesopened up by moving into the new space with a larger kitchen, saying “we were able to add a lot of things to the menu, so I’m liking the idea that we have more choices for the guests.”

With the expanded space and new menu items, the Cork and Pig looks forward to continuing to be one of San Angelo’s top dining experiences. For those outside of San Angelo, the Cork and Pig also has locations in Fort Worth and Dallas.
