The United Blood Services is asking people in the Concho Valley to donate blood. The local bank says they are anticipating South Texas will have an increase in people who need blood transfusions.
They tell us there is also a big chance that blood drives and donor centers will be closed during the severe weather which results in shortage of donations.
There was a blood drive earlier today to help fill some of that need.
“They’re going to call upon other area blood banks such as here in San Angelo, to help make sure that that blood is available for those people who where hurt in the path of this hurricane,” says Linda Grace with the San Angelo United Blood Services.
