Community Kickball Tournament raises proceeds to benefit local Relay For Life team in San Angelo

News

A pretty competitive kickball tournament took place at the Lake View Little League Fields, on Saturday, March 30th. The tourney had a very family-friendly atmosphere, and anyone who competed helped benefit a great cause.

Thirteen teams showed up to compete and support at the outing, including Time Clock Plus, Shannon Medical Center, and the KSAN and KLST crew.

Proceeds gathered from Saturday’s annual kickball tournament will go to Amanda Terry’s Relay For Life team, better known as Amanda’s Army.

Amanda Terry, a breast cancer survivor and volunteer with American Cancer Society Relay for Life, stated, “You know, at first it was cold but I think once we finally got it fired off everybody’s having a great time… It’s just a great family event, a lot of fun, and a lot of morale for the cause.”

Proceeds that go towards Amanda’s Army will also be going towards the American Cancer Society for funding for research.
