Candidate for Lt. Governor Meets with San Angelo Residents

An accountant from the Houston area is the Democratic candidate for Texas Lieutenant Governor in November.

Mike Collier is a former republican and a champion for Texas school students.
He met with supporters at Fuentes restaurant downtown Thursday and talked a lot about the state budget and the school finance system in Texas.

“Texans are very concerned about the debt load,” says Collier. “$100 billion in debt at the state level. A bit reason we have to borrow so much money is because state fiscal policy is not pushing dollars in the communities like San Angelo and that’s one of the things I hope to work on, there’s way too much debt. Way too much debt.”

Collier will face incumbent Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick in the November election.
