Body of missing Texas woman found in cornfield

Authorities say they have found and identified the body of a Buda woman who was reported missing since July 12 by her family.

The Hays County Sheriff’s Office says they found 26-year-old Brittany Parker’s body on Friday, July 29, in a cornfield where her white Toyota Camry was found abandoned on July 15. The law enforcement agency says they originally searched the field with cadaver dogs and aerial searches but they weren’t able to locate anything.

Police were finally able to get identify a location after they went through cellphone records and were able to pinpoint the location of Parker’s body through GPS coordinates. Parker’s cause and manner of death have yet to be determined and results of an autopsy are pending. Police say the investigation is still ongoing.

Parker’s family spoke to KXAN the week she was last seen.

“It’s not like her to leave her car, because that was kind of her pride and joy. The telephone going dead where we can’t reach her on her cell phone and her car being abandoned are both very troubling,” said the victim’s father David Parker.

If you have information regarding Parker, please contact the Hays County Sheriff’s Office at 512-393-7896 and speak with the Criminal Investigations Division or you may contact the Hays County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-324-TIPS (8477).
