The Angelo State University Cheer Team competed in the USA Collegiate Championship in Anaheim, CA this past weekend and the end result was something more than spectacular. The ASU Cheer Team came home as the national champions.
Just after 9pm, Monday night, the last layover flight from Dallas-Ft. Worth landed at San Angelo Regional Airport – Mathis Field. Making their way through the airport, the ASU Cheer Team had the championship trophy in tow.
Friends and family were there to greet the cheer team with banners, balloons, and of course, loud cheers. ASU President, Dr. Brian May was in attendance and praised head coach, Kaylee Feece. “Kaylee has only been here one year and their first year out, they go out to California and win a national championship.” Dr. May also recognized the members of the Angelo State Co-ed Cheer Team for going out and representing Angelo State well.
