Menard County Sheriff’s Department with the help of Texas Game Wardens seize over 40,000 marijuana plants from a grow area east of Menard.
Officials say this is the largest bust since a bust 30 years ago that seized about 5,000 marijuana plants.
The plants seized at the site were reportedly worth millions and officials say public safety and awareness is also a concern as landowners and hunters have reported walking into grow areas such as these without knowing.
We spoke with Menard County Sheriff, Buck Miller, to ask about the many agencies involved, including the National Guard and I.C.E.
The incident is still under investigation and has been ongoing since Tuesday.
