Peruvian war criminal arrested in San Angelo

News

A South American man, wanted for more than 25 years on torture and murder charges, was arrested this month  in San Angelo.

US immigration and customs agents arrested the former Peruvian army sergeant last week in San Angelo for his role in the “Santa Barbara Massacre.”

48 year-old Dennis Pacheco-Zambrano was wanted for the killing of 15 Peruvian civilians in a small village in Peru in 1991.

Agents will not say where Pacheco is being held.

They say he was living here in San Angelo and found after local ICE agents launched an investigation.
