UPDATE (5:15 am) — JoQuincy McCord was booked into the Jackson County Jail early Wednesday morning. He is charged with Murder and Domestic Violence Simple Assault

UPDATE (8:48pm) — Mobile Police have confirmed Joe Quincy McCord is in police custody at the Chevron Gas station on Grelot and University Blvd. They also confirm 2-year-old Genisis McCord has been located and safe. 

UPDATE (8:26pm) — There’s a heavy police presence at the Chevron gas station at the intersection of University and Grelot. 

There is a car matching the description of the Amber Alert suspect.

The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation has issued an AMBER ALERT for 2 year old Genisis McCord of Pascagoula, Jackson County, Mississippi.  Genisis is described as a black female, 2 feet tall, unknown weight with brown eyes and black hair.  Genisis was last seen about 5:15 p.m. at Bandywood Apartments wearing unknown clothing.  Genisis is accompanied by her father, Joe Quincy McCord.  Joe Quincy McCord is described as a black 28-year-old male, 5’9’, 220 lbs, with brown eyes and black hair. The vehicle being used is a 2018 gray or gold Ford Fusion bearing Alabama license plate 2CC 5166. McCord is considered armed and dangerous.  If anyone has information regarding the whereabouts of Genisis or Joe Quincy McCord or the vehicle contact the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation at 855 642 5378.

Pascagoula police tell News 5 that the murder victim is McCord’s estranged wife. 

McCord has a criminal history including previous domestic assault charges in Mobile County. 

PASCAGOULA, Miss. (WKRG/WLOX) — Pascagoula police are searching for a murder suspect who is on the run with a small child and could be heading towards Prichard.  

Police are looking for Joe Quincy McCord who police say shot someone at Bandywood Apartments on Orchard Rd. around 5:15 pm and left with a 2-year-old girl.

Doug Adams with Pascagoula Police says officers are working with the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation to get an Amber Alert out.

Police say McCord is from the Prichard Alabama area and is driving a 2018 gray or gold Ford Fusion with Alabama tags.

He is considered armed and dangerous. Pascagoula Police ask anyone with information about McCord to call their local police department.
